Matt Twenter was a tremendous athlete who loved life. At the age of
11, his short life came to a tragic end. In honor of Matt and his family, who
attend our reception every year, this award is presented in his memory.
Each regular season game, our referees rate each team based on
sportsmanship, on a scale from 1 to 5 with five being the highest score
possible. Then at the end of the season, all scores are totaled, and the
highest score from each grade level, boys and girls, become the recipients at
the Matt Twenter Sportsmanship Reception.
Our Sportsmanship Reception is held at the conclusion of our
season. The award winners, coaches, referees, executive board, and parents are
invited. Medals are awarded. Our league considers this to be a very prestigious
honor.
